A
Macon, Georgia native, W. Joe Adams developed an interest in art
at a very early age. He graduated from Mercer University with a
double major in Art and Biology. He went on to teach art for 8
years. After an absence from painting for many years, Joe is
back having an affair with painting. He has had several one-man
shows in Macon and a group show in Highlands.
Working primarily in a mixed medium of acrylic paint, oil
pastels, pencil and collage on board, Joe’s works exhibit a
strong sense for color and shapes in a somewhat organized way.
Through a visual vocabulary of vivid colors, simple shape,
abstract marks and gestural drawings, he brings the viewer into
his work where they can find their own interpretation of the
images Joe has created.
