“Romancing the Stones” represents a conceptual challenge to me as an artist.  When I visited the largest exhibition of rock, gem and minerals in Tucson Arizona, I felt compelled to create something of beauty and to incorporate these magnificent stones into my paintings.  By doing so, I hoped to present the colourful, interesting formations of rocks, stones, minerals and gemstones that lie deep within the earth in a new way.  I have worked for seven years to present a series of work reflecting my own style and techniques.  I hope that others will find these paintings as exciting and pleasing to the eye as I have in creating them.
